Support beyond the workplace
The transition from military to civilian life is different for everyone. P5 recognises that support can extend beyond employment and career development, and we encourage veterans and their families to access the specialist services available to the veteran community when they need them.
Department of Veterans' Affairs –
Health & Wellbeing
Information about mental health care, wellbeing programs and other support available to veterans and their families. DVA notes that veterans who have served at least one day in the ADF can access a range of mental-health supports, subject to the applicable eligibility arrangements.

Open Arms – Veterans & Families Counselling
Free and confidential counselling and support for current and former ADF members and their families, available 24 hours a day. DVA confirms Open Arms provides counselling, peer support, treatment programs and workshops, among other services.

Veteran and Family Wellbeing Agency
DVA introduced the Veteran and Family Wellbeing Agency from 1 July 2026 to help veterans and veteran families find, understand and connect with wellbeing services and local supports.
